Frequently asked questions.
1. What is the adoption process like?
We strive to make the adoption process smooth and thoughtful. Typically, it includes filling out an application, a meet-and-greet, and a home visit or virtual screening.
2. How long does the adoption process take?
The timeline can vary depending on the pet and your application, but most adoptions are completed within a few days to a week.
3. What are your adoption fees?
Fees vary by animal and help cover veterinary care, vaccinations, microchipping, and daily care. Please check each pet’s profile for specific details.
4. What’s included in the adoption fee?
All pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and receive a basic health screening before adoption.
5. Can I adopt if I live outside of Orlando?
Yes! We adopt to families throughout Central Florida and sometimes beyond, but preference may be given to local adopters for ease of transition and follow-up.
6. Can I adopt if I rent my home?
Yes, but we may require landlord approval or a pet policy to ensure pets are allowed in your rental.
7. Do you allow out-of-state adoptions?
It depends on the situation and the pet. We may consider out-of-state adopters on a case-by-case basis, especially if you're able to visit in person.
8. What if I already have pets at home?
That’s great! We’ll usually do a meet-and-greet to ensure compatibility. All current pets should be up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered.
9. Can I foster before I adopt?
In many cases, yes! We offer foster-to-adopt options so you can get to know the pet before making a lifelong commitment.
10. What if it doesn’t work out?
We want all pets to find the right match. If things don’t work out, we will work with you to find a better fit or welcome the pet back into our care.
